David Kern – Administrator/CEO:  

As Administrator, David Kern oversees all operations at St.
Ann’s.  He has extensive background in program
development, along with over 30 years of management
experience.  Under his leadership, St. Ann’s has been able to
grow and meet the many challenges taking place in our
society with senior living.  He is an active advocate, both
locally and on the state level, for issues that affect today’s
seniors.  Dave is a Duluth native and believes strongly in St.
Ann’s mission and guiding principals. 

Jan Lappy – Director of Resident Program Services:

Jan Lappy joined St. Ann’s in March of 1999 as the Director of
Resident Program Services.  Her responsibilities include all
activity and volunteer programs which includes our Gift Shop.  
Jan has over 25 years of experience in activities and adult
day programming.  She is a certified Activity Director and
Ceramic Teacher with a background in Occupational Therapy.  
She has a Gerontology Certificate from the University of
Wisconsin, Superior and is a member of the Minnesota
Statewide Activity Professionals.  Her mission is to provide
the highest quality of programming for our seniors.

Stephanie Maki – Admissions Manager:  

Stephanie Maki joined St. Ann’s in December of 1999 as a
Certified Nursing Assistant in the Resident Care Services
Department.  She helped residents with their activities of
daily living until August of 2002, when she joined the
management team as the Admissions Manager.  Her
responsibilities include admissions for all residents into St.
Ann’s, payroll, marketing and HUD management..  She has an
AA degree from Lake Superior College from the Legal
Administrative Assistant program.  Her mission is to help
residents and their families as much as possible during the
transition into St. Ann’s.
